A Mathematical Framework Using Dimensionality Reduction

Nathan Kutz will develop a biologically inspired mathematical framework for quantifying the interplay and influence of sensory and pattern-recognition systems. More generally, his aim is to apply data-driven dimensionality reduction techniques to complex systems in order to produce a viable, low-dimensional set of dynamics capable of reproducing the full dynamics of the biophysical system under consideration.
