The Radcliffe Institute will host a conversation between Malian journalist Adam Thiam, of Le Republicain, participating live from Bamako, and historian Gregory Mann, of Columbia University, as they discuss the political situation in Mali and its global implications. They will offer observations about the multiple challenges that face Mali, including the effects of political instability on the economy and society. Ingrid Monson—a Radcliffe Institute fellow and a professor in the music department and the African and African American studies department at Harvard—will moderate. Attendees are welcome to bring lunch. Beverages and dessert will be provided.
