Ellen Fitzpatrick is the Carpenter Professor of History at the University of New Hampshire and a scholar specializing in modern American political and intellectual history. She is the author and editor of six books, most recently Letters to Jackie: Condolences from a Grieving Nation (Ecco, 2010), which this year was adapted into the two-hour documentary, Letters to Jackie: Remembering President Kennedy, directed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker Bill Couturié. Fitzpatrick has appeared regularly on PBS NewsHour, and she has been interviewed as an expert on modern American political history by the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post, as well as on Face the Nation and National Public Radio. She was the Lillian Gollay Knafel Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute in 2008–2009.
