Playwright Lydia Diamond will discuss her writing process, how it speaks to, interacts with, and is informed by an awareness of audience demographic. She will read from her recent work developed at the Radcliffe Institute, including Smart People—a new play about a neuroscientist studying perceptions of race with brain imaging—and Curveball. The presentation will also feature dramatic readings from her award-winning plays Harriet Jacobs, Stage Black, The Bluest Eye, and Voyeurs de Venus.
