While at Radcliffe, I will complete “Aphrodite In Academia: The Ivory Tower Has a Glass Ceiling—Why It Endures and How to Shatter It.” Survey and aggregate data are supplemented with interviews with successful female academics to determine both individual paths to success and policy recommendations for workable solutions to gender discrimination and inequality—from reframing the problem to institutional adoption of alternative routes toward professional advancement.
I welcome a research partner with experience in analyzing data, typing transcripts, and checking citations that will aid in completing a book manuscript. The student will have access to confidential data and will participate in mentoring a project focused on producing publishable work.
Note: The student must go through Institutional Review Board (IRB) training and must be willing to work with confidential interview data.
