History (Gender History)
This project will involve library research and analysis of sources/publications on gender aspects of southeastern European modernization in 19th–20th centuries. Specific projects will depend on the interests and language fluency of research partners. Strong interest in the modern history of Balkan countries and knowledge of at least one relevant (Greek, Romanian, Turkish) language is a must.
As I do not read Greek, Romanian, and Turkish, the students can help me get more information about the original research done in these languages on the topic of my project.
Students will learn about the latest developments in women's/gender history published in Greek, Romanian, and Turkish and how they relate to the field(s) they are interested in.
