This project requires a great deal of research into Varian Fry's activities while at Harvard; a student assistant will be invaluable in compiling the necessary information—and a student will provide unparalleled access to information about student life at the school.
The student’s tasks include library research, public records research, and exploration of Harvard records about Varian Fry, our subject.
The student will learn about the process of novel-writing from the inside out, including research, composition, and revision. The student will learn, in particular, how a writer of historical fiction balances invention and fact. The student will also learn about the history of Harvard and its remarkable graduates.
