Radcliffe Insitute fellow Kara Oehler and Harvard team wins Knight News Challenge, a fiercely competitive international contest that funds digital news experiments.
The 2011 Harvard Radcliffe Institute Science Symposium, "Something in the Air: Climate Change, Science, and Policy" brought together internationally renowned researchers to address the state of our current knowledge of climate science and courses of action that might lie ahead in addressing human-induced climate change.
Ray Jayawardhana, Canada research chair in observational astrophysics at the University of Toronto, has been named a Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University.

Ela Bhatt, the founder of NGO Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA), was today awarded the Radcliffe Institute Medal by Harvard University's Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study here in recognition of her ''life and work that have benefited society."
Social change was the theme of this year's Radcliffe Day, during which present and past affiliates of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study gather to celebrate its accomplishments and ponder future goals.
"It is time we connected the dots" among labor unions, work, and peace, 2011 Radcliffe Medalist Ela Bhatt told luncheon guests at Radcliffe Day on May 27.
The Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study has named Matthew Smith Miller winner of the 2011 Captain Jonathan Fay Prize for his interdisciplinary work and extensive research for his thesis.

The Digital Public Library of America Steering Committee announced a Beta Sprint that aims to surface innovations that could play a part in the building of a digital public library. The DPLA initiative grew out of a meeting at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, which brought together more than 40 representatives from foundations, research institutions, cultural organizations, government, and libraries to discuss best approaches to building a national digital library.
