Justin Torres is the author of the novel We the Animals (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2011). His stories and essays have appeared in Glimmer Train, Granta, the Guardian, Harper’s, the New Yorker, and Tin House and have been featured on NPR.

Torres will be working on a new novel while at the Radcliffe Institute.

We the Animals was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for outstanding literary work by a debut author, was a finalist for a Publishing Triangle Award, won an Adult Debut Honor Award in the Indies Choice Book Awards, and has been translated into a dozen languages. A graduate of the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where he was the Truman Capote Literary Trust fellow, Torres has also received a Rolón Fellowship in literature from United States Artists and a Wallace Stegner Fellowship to Stanford University’s Creative Writing Program.
