The Schlesinger Library is a non-circulating library. While books, periodicals and original manuscripts may not be checked out, certain microfilmed manuscript collections are available for interlibrary loan.
Forms and Payment
To request an interlibrary loan, a researcher must first make arrangements for the loan through his/her own library. The researcher's interlibrary loan office must submit:
- A standard ALA ILL Form. (The Library does not participate in any automated ILL systems.)
- An Interlibrary Loan of Manuscript Material Form signed by the researcher intending to use the microform.
- Prepayment of the $20.00 loan fee. Checks should be made payable to Radcliffe Institute. We also accept payment by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express) over the phone - please call 617-495-8540 for more information.
The forms should be sent to the following address:
Attn: Research Services
3 James Street
Cambridge, MA 02138
Microform material must be returned within four weeks of the date of mailing.
Return of Material
The borrowing library must return (insured) the microforms promptly after the loan period. If the package is not insured and is lost, the borrowing library will be liable for replacement costs.
Microforms must be used in the borrowing library.
