Matías Piñeiro is currently working on The Shakespereads, an experimental fiction series that explores the theatrical world of the female roles in William Shakespeare’s comedies. At Radcliffe, he will research and write a film, Sarmiento, Translator, that will depict the influential Argentinean intellectual Domingo Faustino Sarmiento’s first excursions into the wild Tigre Delta from 1852 to 1855. The experimental film will delve into Sarmiento’s translation and rewriting of a Shakespearean comedy and study the possible relationship between the English poet and 19th-century Argentinean history.
