Photo by Tony RinaldoPhoto by Tony RinaldoHéctor Carrillo will write a book on sexual migration based on findings from an ethnographic study of social context, sexuality, and HIV risk among Mexican gay and bisexual male immigrants. He will synthesize conceptual approaches to the topics of gay migration/diaspora that have been advanced in the social sciences and the humanities; elucidate how the phenomenon of sexual migration links to notions of sexual globalization; and discuss practical implications of this research for HIV prevention programs that focus on gay immigrants.
