Lecture by Karin B. Michels RI '17

Karin B. Michels is an epigenetic epidemiologist and explores how perinatal events shape our chronic disease risk. The dynamic epigenetic code instruments our genes and affects our disease risk. During her time at Radcliffe, she is examining whether and how epigenetic marks may be transgenerationally heritable. In collaboration with other scientists from the Harvard campus, she aims to explore mechanisms that establish a memory across generations.
