Part of the 2019–2020 Fellows' Presentation Series
Lecture by Gala Porras-Kim RI '20
Free and open to the public.
As a Radcliffe fellow, Gala Porras-Kim is expanding on a project begun while curating a show from the permanent collection at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles about the limits of artist agency, property rights, and corporal integrity, considering artworks and artifacts within institutional collections. She will be researching the law and institutional policy to find how artists can intervene in their work physically and conceptually throughout their lifetime, and the resulting conflict between conservation and artists’ will.
