Advancing Technology and Policy Implementation and Research in Health Care: An Interdisciplinary Workshop

January 2011

This seminar serves to compare and contrast different approaches to technology implementation and adoption across diverse disciplines—e.g., clinical medicine, industrial design, outcomes research, industrial engineering, operations research, informatics, and others—and how these results may be applied to health care specifically. The seminar also compares and contrasts approaches to interdisciplinary collaboration to identify and solve end-user problems; i.e., exploring how groups can effectively work together across a range of fields to implement technologies that improve access to and quality of care. Finally, the seminar helps identify interdisciplinary training opportunities for individuals in the discussed disciplines.
