Computerized Crime and Court Data Gathering

Computer Science/Law/History/Gender Studies

I am looking for a Python-proficient programmer who can contribute to open-source data munging and analysis tools (https://github.com/WithPrecedent). Familiarity with web scraping, neural networks, and/or SQL would be beneficial, but are not required. The primary focus of the programming during the academic year will be developing tools related to acquiring, processing, and analyzing crime data. Both the siMpLify and courtpy packages are well along, but there is still much work to be done. My goal is to make dynamic, flexible, extensible tools for researchers engaged in data-driven projects like mine. Students substantially involved will be recognized as full contributors to the project on GitHub and in any derived publications.
