Computing on Encrypted Data and Applications to Science (Exact, Life and Social)

Cryptography/Theoretical Computer Science

This project is about building a system for multi-party computation protocols to perform analytics on social science data. The research partner should have mathematical maturity, knowledge of statistics, and ease with programs. Programming expertise of the student would help immensely as I am a theoretician. By participating in this project, the student will learn about cryptography, methods for data analysis, and how to change current use of statistics to use a new form of statistics that can be computed in terms of functions which are easy to compute on data in encrypted form.
