Human Rights: From Morality to Law

The project involves the completion of a monograph that presents a general theory of human rights. It involves an investigation of their nature and moral foundations, their associated duties, role in practical reasoning, and compatibility with cultural diversity, and the ways in which they may properly be embodied and pursued through public international law.
Students will work identifying, reading through, summarizing, and discussing with me potentially relevant publications, including legislation and case law. They will help with the bibliographical aspects of the project and will perform proofreading/editorial work on draft chapters of my manuscript.

This project should provide a useful insight into major issues in contemporary philosophical/legal research on human rights.
