Money Creation as a Democratic Project in Early America

Newspapers may contain commentary and debate about different monetary experiments in the early American colonies. This project aims to locate and analyze that commentary. Another level of debate takes place in legislative journals and assembly records. Although somewhat more legally embedded and more difficult to decode, such primary sources would be particularly rich on topics like the monetary theory of the time, knowledge of European precedents, and political contention over monetary strategies.

I am looking for a research partner with the ability to locate and canvas primary materials for relevant material, the ability to interpret material, and a willingness to engage unusual literatures and arguments.

I'd love to have help gathering material and analyzing it. The ability to discuss that material with people new to the topic and fresh in approach would be lovely.
