This information is accurate as of the fellowship year indicated for each fellow.

Honour Kane’s work has been produced by New York's Public Theatre New Works; Sydney, Australia’s Annual Mardi Gras Arts Festival; the Actors Theatre of Louisville; the Theatre Outlet in Allentown, Pennsylvania; and Ireland’s Inishboffin Arts Festival. Her plays have been developed by A.S.K. at Lincoln Center Theater, London’s Royal Court Theatre, the Australian National Playwrights Conference, the Portland Stage Company in Maine, and Oregon’s Portland Center Stage.

For her fellowship year, Kane will complete “7dayz,” a performance essay that explores her storytelling heritage while satirizing the devolution of contemporary theater. This is the final segment of hundred years dreaming, a Dublin trilogy that constitutes a portrait, loosely based on her own family history, that examines dramatic form from 1898 through today.

A member of New Dramatists, Kane earned her BFA at New York University’s Graduate Acting Program and an MFA in playwriting from Brown University. She has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts (1993) and the New York Foundation for the Arts (1990, 2002), as well as a Pew Fellowship in the Arts (1993). She has also been awarded residencies at the MacDowell and Yaddo arts communities, as well as a Berrilla Kerr Playwriting Award.
