This information is accurate as of the fellowship year indicated for each fellow.

Olatunde Samuel Dahunsi is a research professor at Bowen University, in Iwo, Nigeria. His broad research focus is in waste management, renewable energy generation, and sustainable agriculture. He has a special interest in biofuel generation from different biomasses and wastes as well as biofertilizer production and utilization for agricultural sustainability in Africa and beyond.

During his Radcliffe fellowship year, Dahunsi will address the waste-management scenario in developing countries by writing a book that will focus on the development of a sustainable method of waste collection and processing to synthesize several platform chemicals and fuels via microbial fermentative routes and polymerization where applicable. The book will contribute not only to solid waste management but also to the establishment of waste biorefineries to generate multiple products in developing nations.

Dahunsi holds a PhD in microbiology from Covenant University and has published more than 90 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. He received a grant from the Foundation of Science and Technology Development at Ton Duc Thang University for his study “Food Waste Biorefinery for Production of Platform Chemicals with a Circular Economy Approach.” He also previously received the prestigious INSA JRD-TATA Fellowship from the Indian National Science Academy and a TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme award to a research institute in Germany. He sits on the editorial board of 6 journals and serves as a reviewer for more than 60 others.
