The 2012 workshop continues the theme, established in the 2011 workshop on technology and processing, of collaboration between archivists and technologists. This year the emphasis will be on practitioners and technicians and current projects involving innovation. The event aims to highlight projects that are innovating the fundamentals of processing through new uses of technology. The workshop will concentrate on “everyday innovations” that are being used to provide increased access to archival information in the way that users want it. We seek archival and technology projects that are employing new methods of processing (for example, using digital cameras instead of photocopy machines in processing). Finally, we hope to share our Experimental Archives project with others, while also learning about ways to improve our work and about other projects happening in the field today.
