Ieva Jusionyte studies the intersection of political-legal and medical anthropology, focusing on the social production of injuries. She is writing a book, based on multisited ethnographic and archival research in Mexico and the United States, that examines the impact of American firearms on Mexican society through the lens of social injury and shows the importance of approaching the issue of gun violence from a binational perspective.
