Jennifer Quick is PhD candidate in the Department of History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University. She focuses on the history of photography and American art and also maintains an active interest in contemporary art and theory.
During her fellowship year, Quick will complete her dissertation, on the artist Ed Ruscha. Her project considers Ruscha’s process and working methods as a basis for rethinking conceptions of skill in post–World War II American art.
Quick received her BA and MA in art history from the University of Maryland. At Harvard she held an Agnes Mongan Curatorial Internship at the Harvard Art Museums. In support of her dissertation research, Quick received a Getty Foundation Library Research Grant and the Phillip and Patricia Frost Fellowship from the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
