Sarah Zeiser is a PhD candidate in Celtic languages and literatures with a secondary concentration in medieval studies at Harvard University. Her dissertation addresses issues of context and tradition in Latin poetic composition and scribal practice in the scriptoria of early medieval Wales, with a particular focus on the use of language and text as tools for subtle political protest during the decades surrounding the Norman conquest. Zeiser, who has a BA from Smith College and an AM from Harvard University, has received the Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship and the IHR Mellon Fellowship for Dissertation Research in the Humanities.
