Dima Alzayat is a fiction writer and researcher interested in archival research, literary experimentation, and third form narratives, or narrative as metaphor. Her debut short story collection, Alligator and Other Stories (Two Dollar Radio, 2020), explores cultural mythmaking, American immigration, and intergenerational legacy.

As a Radcliffe fellow, Alzayat will continue work on her next book, a novel that explores early Arab American history, culture, and identity.

Her short stories have appeared on BBC Radio 4 and in Esquire. Her collection was a finalist for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize for Debut Short Story Collection, the James Tait Black Memorial Prize, and the Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize. She holds a PhD in creative writing from Lancaster University, in the United Kingdom.
